I'm also surprised. Hell I hit a huge pigeon once in an ambulance going about 90 and all it left was a dust impression of the bird on the window. not even a crack and the thing hit hard!

Maybe the chicken was flapping... so he was feet down... and his talons kept him from sliding that split second.....
